Get Registered Now? Camp is still 5 weeks away; don’t I still have plenty of time to register?
It is not too late! Register for GirlsCamp2017 soon to avoid the late fee. Registering on time also helps camp organizers to be sure we have a t-shirt for you, in the size you need, as well as to let the cooks know how much food to order! We also prepare Bible study and camptivity supplies based on registration forms.
Sponsors receive a discount registration fee. If your church group is not bringing a sponsored group, that is okay! We have 3-4 sponsors that facilitate the “unsponsored” or those independent campers who are attending without a church-group. (All sponsors provide a Texas background check and complete a state child protection training).
Campers are encouraged to invite friends, neighbors or cousins to register too! Campers come from around town, nearby towns, and towns further away. If you have a friend register and attend GirlsCamp 2017 because you told them about camp, mention this blog at check-in on July 17 and you will earn a surprise.
Are you wondering what to bring to camp? Although campers need to be prepared for the heat associated with the third week of July, camp guests also want to be prepared for cool weather. All of the cabins and meeting facilities at the retreat center are air-conditioned. Many camp guests appreciate a light jacket and a pair of long pants or jeans for evening or outdoor activities. Campers also need toiletries and bedrolls or twin-sized sheets. Other important items to pack include:
Medical release, Bible, pen, balance of camp fee$ (camp deposit of $30 will offset total amount due), offering money, pillow, swimsuit (prefer one-piece; please wear & swim in cover-up over 2-piece suit), towels, toiletries, flashlight, clothing and tennis shoes appropriate for walking & outdoor activities, insect repellent & sunscreen (opt’l), water bottle, permanent marker (opt’l), snacks/soda (opt’l), and a New bath towel or washrag for our Mission Action Project.
Camp check-in begins at 2:30 on Monday, July 17. Activities start at 3:00! Please be on-time. You may arrive anytime between 2:30-3:00.
During camp, you build connections with friends, but more importantly, you build connections with Jesus! (Colossians 2: 6-7)
